More About Me
"Hi, I'm Rob Schanilec.

In 1998, my family and I were looking for a safe and pretty community with good schools, but commutable to my business in the Twin Cities. Our Realtor suggested Northfield.

Northfield had everything we were looking for, and so much more.

A vibrant and historic college town with an arts-oriented, family-centered vibe, Northfield felt right the minute we saw it. Within a few years of bringing our family here, I moved my print business, By All Means Graphics, onto Bridge Square in the heart of downtown Northfield, where it continues to thrive.

Since then I've sat on many Northfield boards and commissions (I'm currently a member of the Convention and Visitors Bureau Board), have been an active member of the Northfield Arts Guild, founded and published the Entertainment Guide, and was named the 2016 Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year. And as my business has taken me to communities around Northfield, I've learned that there are many great towns south of the Cities to happily grow a family, and a career. I'd love to show them all to you.

My wife and I are recent empty nesters, with 7 kids, 3 grandchildren, a rescue dog named Charlie, and a cat named Boo. We live in a 100-year-old house in downtown Northfield on the edge of the Carleton campus.

I look forward to bringing my knowledge about and passion for community to your own home discovery. "
